R-E-C-O-M-M-E-N-D

My dad has often told me that he will never misspell foreign again. It was the word that he misspelled at a Spelling Bee in 8th grade, resulting in a 2nd place finish to his cousin. He tells us proudly that the superintendent had to go through the original spelling list and two additional lists before getting to a word that stumped him. On Sunday Riley competed in the Lincoln School Foundation's annual Spelling Bee. This Bee is done a little differently than the typical one. Students signed up in teams of 2 or 3 and worked together to come to a consensus on a spelling before spelling it out loud.

Riley and her team, the Bee Busters, won their heat and went on to compete in the finals. Unfortunately, they came in 3rd place in the finals, misspelling the word recommend. I imagine that she won't misspell this word for a long time. She came home with a t-shirt and water bottle which she proudly wore and used at school today.
I would recommend Riley for any Spelling Bee team!
