This did not go unnoticed by our children, who thought that perhaps if they left their slippers/shoes out on the night of the 6th, St. Nick might just swing back by. Stranger things have been known to happen--the tooth fairy has been late (and when I say late, I mean 2 or 3 days late) on numerous occasions.
He did not disappoint--they awoke to a golden dollar and a few pieces of candy left in their shoes. This leaves me to wonder if we will be doing this again next year.

It's really funny that you mentioned that your tooth fairy has been late. Bryce has lost a LOT of teeth lately and I never seem to have dollars on me when he does. So the first time he left the tooth under his pillow he waited for a day or two and when she wouldn't show up he finally asked me about it. I had to inform him that since we were in Korea we had to "call the tooth fairy and inform her of the lost tooth" I mean after all how is she to know that there is a tooth missing all the way in Korea!! Well that bought me another night, but then again, I forgot, so I had to mention that she said she would be showing up sometime within the week! Since then the same routine has occurred and this last time it even got to the end of the week and he had to re-ask me if she was indeed going to come. It is just SAD how many fibs I have told to cover up the tooth fairy!! Fun stories to tell later though.
